Operation Teen Author is a creation and production of SAbER Mountain Publishers designed to coach and guide 50 teenagers through the process of writing a book and then taking that book to best-seller status before the end of the seven month course.

SAbER Mountain Publishers was created to publish and promote the literary works of Don-Alan Rekow after having been turned down by various publishers.  SAbER Mountain began at a time when Print-on-demand publish was just getting popular and POD publishers began to pop up everywhere.  The intention of SAbER Mountain was to take this revolutionary idea to Europe, beginning in Spain and develop a connection between Europe and America.  In the process of setting up the business a need for bindery and post-press manipulation was discovered in the Girona area.  After securing funds from several private investors the business was started and began to take off.  Unfortunately, several events took place at the same time that caused the failure of the fledgling business.  The under-funding, nervous investors, uncooperative and deceptive banks, poor equipment purchased from shady salesmen, an inexperienced team and finally the unexpected death of a key person all took their toll on the new business.  On February 16^th, 2005 one of the investors and his lawyer, two court-appointed officials and a moving crew showed up at the shop to give it the kiss of death by taking away the equipment.  SAbER Mountain Publishers was changed forever.

In any difficult start there is always a silver lining if you don’t give up.  In an effort to change directions and put the emphasis on the publishing aspect, the captain of the sinking ship decided to change its course rather than jump ship.  During several years the struggle to keep it afloat about destroyed everything including the personal life of the captain, but a simple idea kept it alive.  That idea was Operation Teen Author, taking ordinary teenagers who had a will to become great and guide them through the perilous waters of becoming an author, a best-selling author, and coach, teach, train and help them avoid mistakes that stop most people from achieving their dreams.

Operation Teen Author has been in development from about 2006 and makes its debut in the spring of 2008. It consists of seven Team Leaders, a Webmaster, a group of special invited guests that will speak to the participants during Program and its creator and host Don-Alan Rekow.

The series of books that Operation Teen Author will produce is called Just Let Me Be Me. Each book (one per OTA Edition) has a common theme and each of the 50 teenage participants will contribute a chapter to the book.  However, IT IS NOT just a writing assignment that is edited and compiled into a book and published.  This is an event that is designed to be fun, creative, informative, educational and most important impacting to the teenage world.  OTA authors are ambassadors around the world to set better standards for all youth, to give them hope, to give them an ideal to better live by.

Operation Teen Author is set to become a standard of excellence in teaching youth not just how to be authors and writers, but how to be exemplary students and citizens of their communities and role models for their peers.  It can teach them correct and proper principles to better prepare them for life and teach them how to govern their actions so that they can avoid problems that create stress and despair throughout life.
